Florists in the United States range from neighborhood flower shops with a walk-in cooler to studio designers who work only by appointment for weddings and events. Most retail florists build arrangements to order, deliver the same day when you call before early afternoon, and belong to a wire network (FTD, Teleflora or BloomNet) that passes out-of-town orders to a local shop. Ordering from the shop directly rather than through a national website usually means more flowers for the money, because no order-gatherer takes a cut. Flower markets and wholesalers sell loose stems and bunches, often early in the morning, and many now open to the public. Flower farms grow seasonal blooms such as dahlias, peonies and sunflowers and sell by the bucket, by subscription or as pick-your-own.

I ordered a dozen roses, 6 yellow and 6 red to be delivered to my wife's place of employment. The delivery went as scheduled and the flowers were beautiful and are still very beautiful 6 days after delivery. The only complaint I would have is that we were shorted 1 yellow rose. It took us 4 days to notice but we did get shorted 1 rose. For the amount of money a dozen roses cost around the Valentine's holiday, I would expect to get what I ordered. I'm sure it was just an oversight and I will continue to use Blossom Basket in the future. Update: Blossom Basket read my review and immediately sent me a gift certificate!!

The person taking my order was very efficient and friendly. The flowers were for a patient in the hospital. There was the possibility that the patient was going to be discharged before the flowers could be delivered the next day. The person actually did get discharged and blossom basket delivered to her home. We had discussed this possibility and I was very pleased with the service provided to get a beautiful poinsettia delivered to her home.

Several years back I have been seeking a different floral business. I searched Google and came across Blossom Basket, noting there were to sites, which to me meant a good business. I opted for the South Duncan Road store, and was very pleased when I entered the store. I was very pleasantly and courteously greeted and attended to. After several visits in person, I called in an order. The recipient sent me a photo of her bouquet, and it equaled the lovely ones you have in your display case. Now, if I cannot make it in, I either phone or email my order, knowing the end product will be as wonderful as if I had picked it up myself for delivery,. I have recommended Blossom Basket to others who have used you for floral arrangements, and they have also been well pleased. Sincerely, J. THOMAS

I thought I would call a local out of state florist direct, instead of one of the Internet services. Blossom Basket Florist was closed on Sunday's but I called anyway. Boy was I surprised. What appeared to be an answering service, took my order and handled everything to the minutest detail and got my order quickly and had it delivered the next day. My sister was very pleased and immediately sent me a text picture of her feel better gift. I am sure you have a new customer locally in her and I will certainly use Blossom again. Thanks!
